Dammam, Saudi Arabia |
For the past 6 years, I have been working out of the Dammam offices of Miller International-AOBTCo, as their branch manager and Engineering Surveyor. I have dealt with every aspect of claims from inception to completion, on many occasions settlement of the claim based on my report. During this period I have carried out condition and pre-purchase surveys on vessels for the P & I clubs, insurance companies and clients wishing to purchase vessel in world wide locations.
I have been instrumental in reducing tank inspection failures for one of our major clients and am fully conversant with Chemical and Gas operations on board vessels.
I have dealt with technical issues concerning claims and have on many occasions liaised with the vessels Owners directly, answering their queries, after which based on my advice they have acted on this.
I have traveled extensively out of the Kingdom dealing with major engineering and insurance claims in Sudan, Lebanon and areas of Africa.
I was responsible for a multi-million riyal claim in Yanbu for the re-commissioning of a conveyor belt system, being the supervising engineer, which involved reporting to the P & I Club, and the setting up of procedures for the smooth re-instatement of the plant. From the planning stages up until the plant was handed over.
I have dealt with hull and machinery claims for many of our clients and seen the repairs carried through from inception to completion, being involved in all aspects of the repairs.
I am fully conversant with Microsoft Office products and have been administering the Office Network system, both the installation and the upgrading of the system.

During which time I was responsible for all aspects of maintenance and overhauling of all the ships equipment, together with all the associated paperwork that was required by the Ship Managers, reporting directly to them. I was responsible for the smooth running of the vessel, ensuring that tight dead lines were met, acting as the Engineering manager on board reporting directly to the vessels Managers ashore.
Latterly I was actively involved in the preparation of Dry Dock specifications and had been involved in the dry-docking of all the vessels, acting as the engineering liaison with the dry docks management team ensuring that the work was correctly carried out and that the vessels were not delayed.

1977 - 1988 |
I worked my way up through the ranks after completing my Cadetship and attaining an HND in Mechanical Engineering (passed 5 of the 7 subjects with distinctions - Naval Arch being one of them). I have a wide experience of most mechanical equipment too long to list here. With Steam Turbines, large 2 and 4 stroke engines and medium, high speed auxiliary machinery (generators). Together with all the ancillary equipment associated with the running of the vessels, hydraulics, instrumentation, air systems, water systems, pumps.
